Irving Weiner, 80, an investment manager for Polk Brothers, died Sunday at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston. Mr. Weiner grew up in Chicago and most recently was a resident of Skokie. He retired last year from managing the investment portfolios of the large Chicago-based retailer. He also managed the retailer’s mortgage business and handled the investments of the Polk Brothers Foundation and members of the Polk family. Before going to work for Polk in 1970, he worked for 38 years for Western Union, beginning as a messenger and finishing as district sales manager. Survivors include his wife, Louise; two brothers; and a sister. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Weinstein Brothers Wilmette Chapel, 111 Skokie Blvd., Wilmette.
