A memorial service will be held for Thomas R. Ryan, 68, a child singer who performed on Chicago radio shows during the 1930s, at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Loyola Academy Chapel, 1100 Laramie Ave., Wilmette. While serving during World War II in the Navy, Mr. Ryan became a big band singer with the Chuck Foster Orchestra. He eventually returned to Chicago, where he worked for IBM while appearing in area musicals, plays and with theater groups. Mr. Ryan died July 26 in Fresno, Calif. He is survived by a brother; a sister-in-law; and a niece.
