Pontarelli Builders says it will begin construction of the Conservancy at North Park Village in March. The condominium project, on more than 11 acres at Pulaski Road and Bryn Mawr Avenue in Chicago, calls for four buildings and recreational areas.
Units will range from 925 to 1,738 square feet, with base prices of $110,000 to $180,000.
Residents will have one, two or three bedrooms. One-bedroom designs have one bath; two-bedroom floor plans will have one or two baths; and the three-bedroom unit will have 2 1/2 baths.
There will be enclosed parking for 214 cars.

– Arboretum Woods in Salem, Wis., is offering free basements through February. The community, being developed by Wheaton-based Robin Hill Development Co., is next to the Spring Valley Country Club golf course.
Arboretum Woods offers ranch and two-story designs base-priced at $171,800 to $187,000, including lot. Lots only range from $37,900 to $59,600.
Homes include three or four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and attached two-car garages.

– Libertyville-based Cambridge Homes has bought 25 homesites in Steeple Chase, a golf course and equestrian community planned for 57 single-family homes. Steeple Chase is in unincorporated Lake County near Mundelein.
The lots are at least an acre, most of them along the 18-hole golf course. The six Classic Series designs offered at Cambridge Countryside in Mundelein also will be offered at Steeple Chase. Three furnished models are open at Cambridge Countryside, where sales for Steeple Chase are being handled.
The home styles, ranging from 2,446 to 2,845 square feet, are priced from $269,990 to $306,990 for Steeple Chase. They all include family rooms, volume ceilings, basements and attached two-car garages. Some sites can have three-car garages as options, some of which have side entries.

Cambridge president Richard J. Brown said the company sold 739 homes and closed on 685 in 1993, records in both categories. The figures reflect 18 Cambridge sales centers. The top-selling Cambridge community was College Trail in Grayslake, with 172 net sales for the year.
“The overall new-home buying market increased in l993, largely because the low interest rates, which gave many entry-level buyers the economic means to attain home ownership,” he said. “Because many of our homes are designed for first-time buyers, we were able to obtain a share of that market.”
