Much has been made recently about alleged antisemitism among African-Americans. The latest uproar is over the lunatic remarks of Khalid Abdul Muhammad and the college students who cheered him.

As a Jew, I have to say that I find this uproar ridiculous. After fighting for our survival against powerful murderous majorities in Egypt, Babylon, Macedonia, Rome, Spain, France, England, Poland, Russia, Germany and Austria, we Jews should now fear the most oppressed, powerless and dejected minority in America?

On the other hand, when I read in a Tribune editorial, which almost certainly represents the views of the proudest and most powerful majorities in America, that the display of Christian emblems on publicly owned cemeteries should offend no one-then I am afraid.
