Regarding your editorial on licensing of gun dealers (Jan. 10): True, it is ridiculously easy and inexpensive to obtain a federal firearms license. However, the burden of financing current enforcement laws should not be borne exclusively by those who choose to make their living by selling firearms.
Sky-high license fees should not be used to keep undesirable people from obtaining a license. There are other ways such as background checks and periodic inspections. By the way, not every dealer buys and sells in volume to gangs and drug dealers. Many are legitimate businessmen specializing in gunsmithing and competitive shooting.
