Tips ahoy! Here’s a special edition of codes and tips for your favorite games:
Street Fighter II Turbo (Super NES). Here’s a way to even things out a little if you’re taking a beating. At the stage select screen, in the versus mode, press down, button R, up, button L, Y, Bon controller two. A screen will appear that will let you turn certain attacks-like Guile’s sonic boom or M. Bison’s scissor kick or psycho crusher-on or off.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors (Genesis and Super NES). These passwords will help you save the neighbors. On Genesis, try JYZN for level 5, XBRM for 9, DCFK for 13, LMLX for 17, VQBB for 21, QLNK for 25, QNKR for 29, SDHM for 33, BKVR for 37, BZPM for 41 and VNYQ for 45. For Super NES, it’s VHRV for level 5, PBGG for 9, BKYZ for 17, VXBB for 21, XYLZ for 25, YLZD for 29, WJKQ for 33, BZVG for 37, BRPK for 41 and VLHX for 45.
Mad Dog McCree (Sega CD). This cowboy real-action shoot’em-up isn’t too tough, but it can be frustrating. All it takes is one hit to send you back to the beginning of a level. That’s why it’s important that you not miss your targets. There’s always a pattern to the way the bad guys appear in this one. They always appear in the same places, but in seemingly random order. Well, maybe not so random. Usually, if a bad guy pops up on the left side of the screen, his counterpart on the same side will pop up next. Same goes for the right side. That lets you key on one side of the screen and save those precious split seconds. And don’t be stingy with your bullets. Get in the habit of emptying your six-shooter at each target and then quickly reloading.
Super Empire Strikes Back (Super NES). To get past the tough first level of this game enter WDWDWB. This will take you to the ice caves of Hoth. In those caves there are hidden air drafts that will take you to power-ups. The best way to catch the drafts is to jump constantly as you’re moving through the caves. To beat the Wampa boss, stay to the left or right of his mouth and fire up with your blaster. After the boss attacks, jump to the other side of the screen. Keep going back and forth until you’ve got him. Beat the Probe Droid boss by hitting it from beneath with your lightsaber.
Super Baseball 2020 (Genesis). Try these codes to get to various places in the season as the Tokyo Samurais: AAAAA, AAWBA, AAAFA, BIBCA; QAAAA, QABAI, AIABQ, OEAMQ; QAAAB, ADIAY, AJAFQ, IRBIA; QEAAB, AAUBE, AEQYI, KVDWA.
