Dr. Max Ungar, 88, a dentist for more than 60 years on the North Side, died Feb. 18 at Evanston Hospital. Until his retirement in 1989, Dr. Ungar had offices for many years at 3420 W. Peterson Ave. Before that, he was at 2750 W. North Ave. He was a volunteer lecturer for the Chicago Board of Education. He also did volunteer dentistry at the Spaulding School for the Handicapped. Dr. Peterson is survived his wife, Ann; a daughter, Phyllis Zaban; two sisters; and five grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Piser Weinstein Menorah Chapel, 9200 N. Skokie Blvd., Skokie.
