There’s a new computer network just for females.

“We see it as being a central clearinghouse of information on all sorts of issues that are of interest and concern to women,” says Nancy Rhine, a former computer consultant and co-founder of Women’s WIRE (Worldwide Information Resource and Exchange).

Users can log on to consider subjects such as politics, education, careers, finance, “herstory,” health, technology, arts and leisure and parenting, or access the Hangout chat line. The result is an international network that functions as part resource center, newsstand, library, coffeehouse, support group, networking tool and consciousness-raising outlet.

Women’s WIRE costs $15 a month. For a free starter kit containing a program and instructions, call 800-210-9999.
