It is to the credit of the Quill Corporation to have established a “mothers room,” a special area for their employee mothers who are breastfeeding their babies (WOMANEWS, Feb. 6). More companies would do the same if they realized that doing so would likely cut down on the number of days employees who are new mothers have to take off to care for ill children. Studies show that babies who are breast-fed become ill less often and less severely.
Indeed, many mothers employed outside the home choose not to breast-feed because of the hassle of finding a place to pump and store their milk while at work.
