Edward Puschak, 76, of Palos Heights, a former restaurateur, died Monday in Oak Forest. In 1957, Puschak and his partner, Emit Dice, opened Melody Lane, a South Side restaurant and ice cream parlor. He also owned the Matterhorn in Palos Park and Mr. Beef, a South Side butcher shop. Mr. Puschak had been on the boards of directors of the Palos State Bank and the Palos Hills State Bank. He is survived by a daughter, Sandy; three sons, Tom, Donald and Gary; and many grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Thompson and Kuenster Funeral Home, 5570 W. 95th St. in Oak Lawn. Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of the Woods Church, 10731 W. 131st St. in Orland Park.
