John J. Coyle, 77, a former lumber salesman and longtime resident of Wilmette, died Sunday in a Palm Springs, Calif., hospital. Mr. Coyle, the head of his own lumber brokerage service until his death, worked as a lumber salesman from 1939 to 1982 for two Chicago-area lumber companies. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II. Mr. Coyle is survived by his wife, Ann; six daughters, Leslie Lorenz, Laura, Madeleine Follrath, Sarah Delgado, Mara Hedland and Eliza Murray; three sons, William, Shaun and Christopher; a sister; and six grandchildren. Mass was said Friday in St. Francis Xavier Church, Wilmette.
