Marguerite E. Holmes, 88, a former Chicago teacher, died Wednesday in Glacier Hills Nursing Center, Ann Arbor, Mich. Mrs. Holmes moved to Michigan about three years ago from Glen Ellyn. She taught at Christopher School on the Southwest Side during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Mrs. Holmes worked with learning, emotionally and physically disabled students. She was born in India, the daughter of Methodist missionaries. Her husband, the late Rev. Ralph A. Holmes, was a former chaplain of Oak Forest Hospital. She is survived by a son, Robert; two brothers; a sister; and two grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Sheldon-Goglin Funeral Home, 5935 W. Belmont Ave, Chicago.
