I am fully aware that there are much more important things happening in this world, but I feel compelled to write about the Michael Jordan baseball experiment.

Why is the sports media so horrified and repulsed at the prospect of Jordan having a go at the national pastime? And if they feel this is all a circus and travesty, what were they all doing there interviewing each other and wailing about the sanctity of the game?

If they would only relax for a moment, they might realize what a great opportunity exists here to boost baseball by chronicling the ordeal of the world’s greatest athlete as he discovers first-hand how difficult, yet rewarding, baseball is.

Actually, the most important lesson to be learned is that one of the most famous people in the world is refusing to let a fear of failure prevent him from trying something he truly wants to do. If only we could all be so brave.
