Robert S. Mazzone, 64, president and founder of Mazzone’s Italian Ices, died Sunday at Loyola Hospital in Maywood. The family-owned business was at 6027 W. 26th St. in Cicero. Mr. Mazzone of Indian Head Park received a declaration in 1993 from the governor and the state-the Dr. Cutler Award-for his dedication and service through Rotary Club International. Mr. Mazzone was a former president of the Cicero Rotary Club. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine; two daughters, Robin Gebhard and Jill Folias; two sons, Dino and Mitch; a brother; three sisters; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John of the Cross Church, 51st Street and Wolf Road, Western Springs.
