Regarding a Clinton legal defense fund (editorial, May 19): My two cents are enclosed. Presumably 50,000 other Americans will be anxious to contribute.
Presto! $1,000. Give it to Hillary. Nine months later, he’ll have more than enough. Or give him a public defender, as is the right of any other accused criminal.
As for editorial comment that Clinton’s distraction from issues of war and peace cannot be good for the American people, I beseech you to reconsider. It could very well be the best thing that ever happened to America.
Having lived through the administrations of 10 presidents, Watergate’s scandal included, this is the first president for whom I’ve ever felt compelled to apologize to the world.
