Neil Young, who heads the Midwest and Texas regions for Grubb & Ellis from offices in Rosemont, has taken on added responsibility for the company’s eastern territory. He is now regional president for all Grubb & Ellis operations from Denver east.

Young said the company is expanding and plans to add 120 professionals this year. He also said that smaller regional brokerage companies are being acquired to increase the company’s national presence. In the last 30 days, Grubb & Ellis has bought firms in Dallas and Atlanta.

“The real estate market is coming along nicely,” said Young, commenting on the company’s growth. “You either have to expand or someone will be more competitive and take market share.”

Grubb & Ellis also promoted Daniel L. Spiegel to director of research for the Midwest/Texas and Eastern regions. Spiegel will supervise the regional rollout of national computerized management tracking and information systems.

Spiegel was responsible for developing Grubb & Ellis’ industrial database for the Rosemont office, and was named research director of the year for the Midwest/Texas regions in 1993.
