I want to thank you for printing the Anna Quindlen column, “Gays in mainstream make homophobic critics look paranoid” (June 27). While many anti-gay rights people claim to be “against special rights,” what’s much more threatening to them is the idea that we would not be ashamed of ourselves for being who we are.
