Robert Cornell Gilboy, 91, a Chicago advertising executive for 30 years, died Saturday at his home in Hendersonville, N.C. Mr. Gilboy was head of advertising and a vice president of Instructor Publishing Co., a subsidiary of F.A. Owen Publishing Co. of Dansville, N.Y. Mr. Gilboy wrote a 1981 handbook, “Spell It Fast,” for poor spellers. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Weibel; three sons, Robert, William and Andrew; and five grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were pending.
