Viola Rakestraw, 69, a 30-year Chicago resident, died Wednesday at her home. Mrs. Rakestraw had worked as a singer, a dancer, a seamstress, a beautician and a cook. Survivors include her husband, Asberry Sr.; two sons, Stanley and Asberry-Tony Jr.; a daughter, Joanne Holmes; her mother, Bertha Kelly; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Carter Funeral Chapel, 2100 E. 75th St. and from 1 p.m. until the services at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
