A letter (July 10) criticizes the Tribune for not covering the Gay Games. The writer believes that this event should not have been ignored by “the supposedly objective mainstream press.”
“Mainstream” is defined as “prevailing trend of opinion.” Since the vast majority of its readers were not upset by this lack of coverage (the prevailing trend of opinion), it would appear that the Tribune indeed did consider the “mainstream” when it ignored the coverage of this particular event.
