Arthur Kerstein, 74, former president of McCormick Inn Hotel, died Tuesday in Swedish Covenant Hospital. He was the original proprietor of the hotel and was in charge of its operation until it was shut down in 1993 to make way for the expansion of the Stevenson Expressway and McCormick Place. In 1946, he started a bicycle shop in Berwyn that is now known as Art’s Cycling and Fitness. Mr. Kerstein was on the board of directors of several banks, including the Albany Bank & Trust and the First Oak Brook Bank. Survivors include his wife, Roselyn; two sons, Barry and David; a daughter, Maureen Schwartz; six grandchildren; and a sister. Services for Mr. Kerstein will be held 1 p.m. Thursday in the Weinstein Brothers Wilmette Chapel, 111 Skokie Blvd., Wilmette.
