I completely agree with your July 25 editorial criticizing Mayor Daley’s plan to remove a majority of Chicago’s public telephones. You correctly view his actions as “punishing the many for the sins of the few.”
I wish the Tribune would apply this sound reasoning to its views on gun control. Your editorials advocate punishing the many for the sins of the few when repeatedly urging a ban on the private possession of handguns.
