I have recently returned home after attending five World Cup soccer games in Chicago. It was a phenomenal experience.
The City of Chicago and its civil servants are to be commended for a job well done. I cannot emphasize enough how impressed I was with the way the crowds of fans were channeled throughout the city for the games, tourism and other events that were taking place at the same time.
I was amazed by the fact that Chicago is not intimidated by hosting an event such as the World Cup and seemed more than willing to overlap many of their other crowd-drawing summer attractions, i.e. the Taste of Chicago.
You are to be praised for having adequate law enforcement, traffic control and public transportation to accommodate these large crowds and keep things moving smoothly within the city. Never once did I encounter a discourteous or impatient person as we made our way during our stay. When seeking directions or information, everyone we encountered was very helpful and accommodating.
I have only good memories about Chicago. Thank you for a wonderful time.
