Police seized a cache of weapons, including semi-automatic assault rifles, from a North Side residence Saturday morning.
The owner of the collection, Yasser G. Hammad, 31, faces 10 charges of having unregistered firearms, said Town Hall District Lt. Joseph Shields.
Police questioned Hammad in his apartment at 4615 N. Malden St. after a female acquaintance complained to police about seeing the guns there, Shields said.
Police were forwarding the guns to a crime lab for examination, he said.
