Popular comic book superheroes, X-Men, have entered the cyberworld on CompuServe.

Marvel Comics and the online service launched what was billed as the first comic book online Aug. 25 at a conference that featured writer Scott Lobdell and artist Chris Bachalo.

The first issue of the comic book “Generation X” is online (Go XMEN), and in stores.

Cyberfans can view the comic on the following services:

Internet (ftp host: alpha.vyne.com in the directory pub/marvel). PC file name is genx.zip and Macintosh file name is genx.sea.

America Online uses the keyword: Graphics and go to New Files library.

On GEnie, go to page 1320 of Marvel Comics library.

Competitor DC Comics has a board on America Online, but hasn’t offered a whole comic yet.
