William T. Larner, 85, a retired engineer for Illinois Bell Telephone Co., died Monday in Evanston Hospital. Mr. Larner, a longtime resident of Wilmette, was a graduate of Northwestern University. During World War II, he worked with Bell Telephone Laboratories as a member of the technical staff on equipment development for defense projects. He served as general appraisal engineer and equipment engineer for Illinois Bell in the Chicago area. Survivors include his wife, Lillian “Bobby”; and a son, William. Services will be private.
