Your editorial (Aug. 28) opposing a national veterans cemetery at Ft. Sheridan was right on the mark. I am a World War II-through-Vietnam veteran who, before many more years, will be needing a cemetery!

I also live near Ft. Sheridan, am active in my American Legion Post and have no pecuniary interest, other than as a taxpayer, in how the land is disposed of. Nevertheless, I strongly oppose using that limited and very desirable land for a cemetery. A national cemetery at the Joliet Arsenal would be just fine!
