X. Daniel Kafcas, 61, was killed Thursday in the crash of USAir Flight 427 outside Pittsburgh. Mr. Kafcas, of Buffalo Grove, was a retired United Airlines executive who ran his own consulting firm. He was a former board member of Township High School District 214 in Arlington Heights. He is survived by his wife Joan; a son, Christopher; a daughter, Alexandra; and a sister. Services will be held at 10 a.m. in Countryside Unitarian Universalist Church, 1025 N. Smith Rd., Palatine.
