Al M. Bernstein, 86, of Skokie, a former print shop owner and employee of a hot dog restaurant, died Sept. 9 in his home. For more than 50 years, he was the owner and operator of Eagle Press Printing at 3508 W. 16th St,. and later at 3007 W. Lawrence Ave. For the last 12 years, he was known as “Mr. B, the Maitre d”‘ at Poochie’s on Dempster Street in Skokie. Survivors include his wife, Elaine; two sons, Harvey and Steven; a daughter, Lois Gordon; and seven grandchildren. Services for Mr. Bernstein were held in Wilmette.
