In the Sept. 2 “Your Place,” a photograph illustrating the article, “Mix ‘n’ match,” shows a young man with his arms around a young woman. The caption tells us that she has moved in with him. A wedding wasn’t mentioned. So we are left to assume they were living together. The article described the planning that went into such a move.
These young people should have been planning to give themselves to each other, for better or for worse, for life. For the uninformed, that relationship is called “marriage.”
It’s pathetic to have our daily newspaper ignore the reality of an unmarried couple “playing house.” It’s way past time for society to once again protect itself by supporting marriage “til death do us part.” Children, born and unborn, are the innocent victims of their parents’ casual relationships and divorces and of the mentality that says it’s okay for an unmarried man and woman to live together.
