Rolling Meadows d. Libertyville: Rolling Meadows (10-5) earned the non-conference sweep 15-8, 15-3 led by Kristen Barker and Beth Hanson with seven kills apiece and Nicolle Swaback’s 19 assists.
Joliet Catholic d. St. Viator: In an East Suburban Catholic opener, Jenna Trousil spiked six kills and Traci Goepper served 12 points to lead Joliet Catholic (7-4) to its 15-2, 15-3 sweep.
St. Charles d. Lake Park: Kristin Guidish had eight kills and eight digs as St. Charles (8-3, 6-0) swept the Upstate Eight match 15-7, 15-5.
St. Charles 3, East Aurora 0: Steve Ball converted a penalty kick and Karl Glover and Steve Wilhusen added goals to lead top-ranked St. Charles (7-1) in its Upstate Eight opener.
Batavia 1, Oswego 0: Matt Madsen and Corey Hardersen split the shutout and Jed Dundley scored to lead No. 3 Batavia (7-2) to the Little Seven victory.
Hinsdale South 2, Downers South 1 (OT): No. 6 Hinsdale South (6-1-1) won its West Suburban Gold opener when Sean McSherry scored off a goal-mouth scramble 1 minute, 30 seconds into overtime. Rob Ronayne had given Hinsdale a first-half lead, but Matt Horner converted a penalty kick with five minutes to play for Downers South. Hinsdale South’s Jim Hall stopped 13 shots, allowing only Horner’s penalty kick.
Geneva 1, Sycamore 0: Andy Houston scored off an Andy Swenson assist and Geneva (5-2-1, 1-0-1) had 19 shots on goal during its Little Seven victory.
Steinmetz 2, Von Steuben 0: Jorge Galeno and Lukasz Preplasko scored to lead Steinmetz (1-1).
Fenwick 8, Weber 1: Josh Kotowski (two goals, two assists) and Mike Sarkady (two goals, assist) powered Fenwick (8-2-1, 2-0) to the Catholic League victory.
Plainfield 3, Minooka 0: Jim Maclean posted his second shutout and Justin Arabadjief had a goal and an assist to help Plainfield (4-2-2, 2-1) to the Little Seven victory.
