This is directed toward all those Americans who remain politically ignorant and inactive, voters and non-voters alike.
These are the Americans who whine and complain the most about politicians and government being ineffective and corrupt. These people do not think that their vote makes a difference, or they aren’t interested in politics.
Regardless of their excuses, they do make a difference. When they are inactive, they are not holding elected officials and our government accountable. These Americans are not living up to the responsibility that goes along with a representative government. Our government is simply a reflection of its constituents, for better or worse.
Good candidates practically have to beg people to help them campaign. There is something very wrong with politics today, but the blame doesn’t lie with the government or politicians so much as with the inactive citizens of America.
