Police are looking for the man who beat, raped and robbed a Park District groundskeeper Monday afternoon in a remote area of Grant Park, police said.

The 27-year-old worker was approached by a man who asked her for directions to a museum, said Sgt. Michael Chasen, of the violent crimes division of the Harrison Area Department.

The attacker then hit her with a steel pipe and dragged her into a shed, which is partially underground and is used to store construction equipment, Chasen said. The man raped her and then fled with her purse, according to Chasen.

After the attack, the woman found police patrolling the park. She was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and was released Monday evening.

Police have no suspects. The attacker is described as black, between 5-5 and 5-7 and weighing 150 to 160 pounds. He has a light complexion, short black hair and was wearing a blue running suit.
