Your Sept. 7 column by William Gruber includes me as among various Hamilton Investments employees who were terminated on Sept. 1, concurrent with the acquisition of Hamilton by Principal Financial Securities. Not only am I currently an employee of George K. Baum & Company of Kansas City (as you correctly indicated), I have been so since the time of my resignation from Hamilton on July 18, more than six weeks before the acquisition. I regret that you did not make the necessary calls to establish the facts in this situation.
