A request by a resident to slow traffic on Checker Drive has prompted the Village Board to order a study of traffic patterns on all village collector streets.
Paul Bartusiak, who lives on Checker, told trustees Monday that heavy traffic makes it difficult for his car to leave his driveway. Other residents said they are concerned about their children’s safety.
Traffic on Checker has increased recently because of construction on Illinois Highway 83, said William Balling, village manager.
The board plans to discuss the study Oct. 17.
