It was interesting to read the editorial, “A primal scream against gun violence” (Sept. 15), alongside a letter to this column, called “Morbid Decision.” The Tribune should be congratulated for giving prominent coverage to the shooting deaths of children.
Until those of us who wake each day in relative comfort and safety begin to feel the pain and helplessness of those who live as targets-especially children-the primal scream will not be heard nor heeded. I hope this newspaper will keep reminding us.
