Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Once again, a major league baseball player steps to the plate and shows us his extreme arrogance. In an interview with Bob Greene (Sept. 18), Cub first baseman and (former?) fan favorite Mark Grace comes across as mean and nasty as a person can while saying just 250 words. He ends the interview by issuing a dire warning: Any player who mentions a desire to break ranks will be a pitcher’s target when play resumes.

When Greene asked about ballplayers’ behavior toward their fans, Grace explained, “Because in my business there are probably three (obscenties) for every good guy.” Which phrase describes Grace? His comments make it easy.
