Occupation: Actor.
Birthday: Sept. 9, 1971.
Birthplace: San Antonio.
Current home: A ranch in San Antonio, near my parents.
Marital status: Single.
Car: An indigo-blue 1994 GMC pickup.
Working on: I’ve got two movies coming out this month: “Legends of the Fall,” with Brad Pitt, and “Curse of the Starving Class.”
Nickname: Spiderman. I jump around a lot.
Favorite performer: Tom Waits.
Favorite childhood memory: Sleeping on the back of my pony Shortie.
Prized possession: My 1967 Martin 12-string guitar.
Personal hero: Harrison Ford. I saw him in “Star Wars” when I was 6, and it made me want to get into films.
People always think I’m: They know I was in “E.T.,” but they also think I was the kid in every other movie, like “Black Stallion.”
If I could do it over, I’d: Have taken more opportunities as they presented themselves. I was very choosy and passed on a lot on projects, and I regret it.
I’d give anything to meet: Winona Ryder.
My fantasy is: I’d like to be a wolf, but unfortunately I’m a human.
The one thing I can’t stand: People who fidget.
If I could change one thing about myself: I’d be taller and handsomer.
People who knew me in high school thought I was: A geek.
My most irrational act: Throwing toilet-paper bombs at pedestrians from my hotel-room balcony in New York City.
The best time of my life: Before I started working.
The worst time of my life: My teenage years.
Behind my back, my friends say: “He’s a little uptight about his house.” I like everything in order, and I get irritable if people mess things up.
Most humbling experience: Going from being the child actor everyone wanted to a gangly teenager that nobody remembered.
Three words that best describe me: Driven, soft-hearted and insane.
