Robert L. Fields, 73, an area businessman, died Friday at home in Wonder Lake. He was born in Lincolnwood and formerly lived in Worth and Long Grove. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II. During his entrepreneurial career, he owned an automobile dealership in Minnesota, managed a Chicago car auction, managed a Western Springs flower shop and co-owned and operated Joan’s Country Cupboard in Long Grove with his wife. He is survived by his wife, Joan; three sons, Robert, Russell and Frank Svoboda; two stepsons, Michael Weidner and Terry Weidner; three stepdaughters, Bonnie Amann, Becky DeMuth and Laurie Lebernier; two sisters; and 24 grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave., Libertyville.
