The Postal Service doesn’t deserve the intended increase to 32 cents on a first-class letter.
Now it wants us to subsidize the junk mail that fills our mailbox. Four-fifths of what the post office brings us is a waste of our time and its energy. Why should we have to make up for all the bulk mail and reduced rate materials that clutter our mailboxes?
A letter placed in our mailbox after 4:30 p.m. Friday doesn’t get picked up until 2:15 p.m. Monday. We had better mail pickups 50 years ago. Today’s service is so pathetic, and those in charge should be held accountable.
