The British Broadcasting Corp., Britain’s state-owned television company, said Tuesday that it is launching BBC World Channel, an international information and news service, on U.S. cable television. The service, which will start Feb. 1, will provide American viewers with a 24-hour service that will include hourly bulletins of international news, business, sports and weather.
