General Motors Corp. said Wednesday it is raising prices on 1995-model cars and trucks an average of 0.7 percent, or $151 per vehicle, effective Jan. 3.

The increase is in addition to GM’s announcement in June that it was raising prices on 1995 models about 2.5 percent, or $494 per vehicle, from final 1994-model prices.

GM, the largest U.S. automaker, said the latest price increase includes vehicles that were priced below their competition on a comparably equipped basis.

One of the largest increases was posted on GM’s new Oldsmobile Aurora sedan, which has been selling briskly despite a lackluster U.S. luxury-car market. GM raised the price of the Aurora 5.3 percent, or $1,705, to $33,700. That includes a $10 increase in the destination fee, which was raised to $635.

No increases were posted at the Saturn or Cadillac divisions, said a GM spokesman. Prices on GM’s light-duty trucks were increased $50 to $325.
