U.S. Rep. Dick Gephardt has stated that the Democrat tax plan is to “assist hard-working middle-income families.”
Since no one seems to agree on what is or is not “middle income,” let’s turn to the other half of the Gephardt equation. What is a “hard-working” family, as distinguished from a family that is not hard-working? Who makes this distinction? On what criteria? Would the not hard-working family be denied tax relief?
