From the Dec. 26 “Biz tips” column comes the great news about toilet paper that will not disintegrate when wet.
This really is great news. This toilet paper, wet or dry, will be tougher, probably as tough as a newspaper. I know from experience that newspaper, wet or dry, flushed down a toilet can, and usually does, clog up the sewers. This excites me as I think of all the people this may put to work.
If the sewer rodders can’t solve the problem, then, of course, plumbers would have to dig up the blocked sewer sections and replace them. These jobs are difficult, so the cost could run from $50 to $100 per hour, per person, plus charges for the trucks and needed equipment, etc.
Why does this make me cheerful? You guessed it! I’m a plumber. The only sad part is that I am retired.
