Cherry Corp.’s fiscal third-quarter profit rose 40 percent, to a record $4.3 million, or 35 cents a share, from $3.1 million, or 33 cents a share, a year earlier, when there were fewer shares outstanding. The Waukegan-based maker of electronics said sales in the period ended Nov. 30 jumped 25 percent, to $245 million from $204 million.
