Robert Frederick Hanson, 73, vice president of Century Steel Corp. and a longtime resident of the city’s Near North Side, died Dec. 27 in his winter home in Palm Coast, Fla. Mr. Hanson, who attended the University of Chicago, served in the Navy during World War II. Survivors include two stepdaughters, Audrey Nelson and Valerie Shubik; a stepson, James Reed; and seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Tavern Club, 333 N. Michigan Ave.
