Unitrin Inc. pondered its next move after the Delaware Supreme Court allowed the company to buy back its own stock to ward off a hostile takeover bid by American General Corp. The ruling allows Chicago-based Unitrin to proceed with a buyback of 10 million shares, about 19 percent of its outstanding stock. American General, based in Houston, said it would drop its lawsuit that sought to block the share repurchase.
