While the air is filled with predictions, permit me to add one more. Traditionally, the words “non-partisan” have preceded any reference to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) in your newspaper and others. Such a reference was clearly intended to add credibility to any pronouncements by the CBO.
However, I predict that very soon the term “non-partisan” will disappear before any CBO reference. Shortly thereafter, more disparaging adjectives, inferring strict partisanship, will begin to crop up anytime the CBO is quoted.
