The letter by Shelly Gruenwald (Voice, Feb. 1) is another example of people using selective reality to make a point.

The Citizens Utility Board did not develop its recommendations capriciously. When it was stated that the recent rate hike granted to Commonwealth Edison was not appropriate, research was done before that conclusion was reached. ComEd’s rates are the highest in the country, and if ComEd cannot be successful and is not making a profit, it should examine some of its internal practices for the reasons.
