As a DuPage County Republican, I am embarrassed and insulted by the Republican Party in Chicago. There are 50 elected Republican Ward Committeemen and a City of Chicago chairman. They all receive some form of patronage and jobs from the governor’s office, yet they refuse to work aggressively (or not at all) to improve the party in Chicago. Instead, they perpetrate the one party “Republicrat” system that is prevalent in Illinois and especially in Chicago.
Again, they have given Rich Daley a pass. While we real Republicans in DuPage County and the rest of the country have said “no more business as usual, no more big government and no more of the same old machine-type nonsense,” the Republican committeemen in the city have decided to play the same old game of Democratic, plantation-style politics because their real boss, Rich Daley, says so.
